If your insulation isn&amp;rsquo;t up to the task, you&amp;rsquo;re looking at a short circuit.&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;h2 id=&#34;stopping-the-leaks&#34;&gt;Stopping the Leaks&lt;/h2&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;If you want a system that actually stays insulated, you have to look at the lamp housing and the connectors. Now, the quartz tubes themselves are great insulators. The real trouble starts at the endpoints—where the tungsten filament meets the lead wires. That&amp;rsquo;s where things usually go wrong.&#xA;To fix this, we use high-temp ceramic insulators and silicone potting compounds to seal those junctions tight. It basically creates a wall that stops moisture from creeping into the electrical contacts.&#xA;And if you&amp;rsquo;re installing these into a ceiling fixture, pay attention to the IP rating of the housing. You need a solid, moisture-resistant seal around the R7s or SK15 base. Without it, steam just condenses right on the live terminals. Not a good look.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
