
Why we stopped building “disposable” bathroom heaters
Most bathroom heaters are built like a black box. You buy it, it works great for a few years, and then one day the heating element just gives up. Since everything is sealed shut, you can’t actually fix it. So, the whole thing—plastic, metal, and all—ends up in the trash. That felt wrong to us. So we changed how we build them. Instead of one solid chunk of hardware, we made our heaters modular. We started looking at the heating tube as something that will eventually wear out—like a lightbulb—rather than a permanent part of the wall. The “Five-Year” Problem Bathrooms are tough on electronics. Between the steam and the constant heating and cooling, the filaments eventually just degrade. It happens. But here’s the thing: you shouldn’t have to rewire your entire bathroom just because one part wore out. We built a plug-and-play system. No soldering. No taking apart the whole housing. You just pull out the old module and drop in a new one. It’s that simple. The Nerdy Stuff (That Actually Matters) We use short-wave infrared quartz tubes. The best part? You feel the heat instantly. You aren’t waiting for the air in the room to warm up; the heat hits you right away. Because these tubes get incredibly hot, we had to be smart about the reflectors. We use gold-plated or high-polish aluminum. This makes sure the heat goes where it’s supposed to—on you—and not melting the inside of the casing. One quick heads-up: if you decide to swap in a higher-wattage tube later on, just double-check your wiring. If your wires are too thin for the extra power, they’ll overheat. Better safe than sorry. Real-World Fixes If you’ve ever tried to replace a tube in a standard heater, you know it’s a nightmare. It’s an hour of fiddling with screws and praying you don’t break a plastic clip. With this setup, it takes about five minutes. Everything is standardized, so the new part fits perfectly every time. No guessing. Just swap it, flip the switch, and you’re warm again.
