
Let’s Talk About Bathroom Heaters (And Why Your Eyes Matter)
When you’re putting a heater in a bathroom, an IP65 waterproof rating is a great start, but it’s not the whole story. You’ve got to think about how it actually feels to stand under one—especially if you have kids or if the unit is mounted where you can see it. The glare problem Most standard infrared lamps are a bit too aggressive. They pump out a lot of visible light and UV rays that can really stress your eyes. Nobody wants to feel like they’re staring into a welding torch while they’re trying to dry off. To fix this, we use special quartz coatings and filtered filaments. Basically, we strip away the harsh blue light and UV stuff. What’s left is the near-infrared and far-infrared heat. You still get that deep, cozy warmth on your skin, but without the blinding glare. Keeping the water out (and the heat moving) The IP65 part is simple: it keeps dust out and handles water splashes without a problem. We use high-temp silicone gaskets to seal everything tight. It’s a necessity because water and high-voltage circuits are a recipe for a very bad day. But here’s the tricky part. When you seal a box that tight, the heat gets trapped inside. If we aren’t careful, the internals will just bake themselves. That’s why we use aluminum heat sinks. They pull the heat away from the wiring and the driver so the unit doesn’t burn out from the inside. Getting the install right These plug right into your standard 220V-240V lines. Inside, there’s a polished aluminum reflector that pushes the heat straight down. One tip: don’t mount them too low. If it’s too close to your head, the heat is just too intense. We usually suggest at least 2.2 meters up. This gives the heat a chance to spread out before it hits you, making the experience feel soft and comfortable rather than scorching.
